first of all, hello everyone nice to meet you all.

i just scored an e6400 classic for real cheap and i have been having some problems with it. probably why i got it for cheap but meh the project keeps me out of trouble. anyways the problem that i have not been able to, as of yet, get past is that when i start birdie up i get the emu boot v2.0 message on the screen for about 1-2 seconds before the screens begins to rapidly fade away. there is no problem with the backlight but the lcd is what concerns me. since it shows text right as it powers up then fades away it makes me think that the problem stems from the power supply. i did some research and my model was made in 97 so it would have been before emu upgraded the psu to 65 watts from the original 43w(?). what i have been wondering is if it were possible to replace the psu with something more powerful or if there was an effective way for me to perform some diagnostics on 'er or what i should do here. does anyone have any advice they might be willing to offer? i am feeling a bit clueless right now.

thanks.

I had a problem very similar to yours, turned out to be a dying PSU.

yeah i am looking at buying a new psu. i have found the one from powdec that supposedly was originally put into the emu's but i cannot find anywhere that sells it. are there viable alternates to these power supplies? and for that matter is there anywhere that sells them currently?

thanks for the help fellas.
