newbie e4x filter question

Postby muteoscillator » Fri Jan 11, 2008 6:54 pm

hi everybody
i've just bought a used e4x but, when i went into the sample edit section i didn't find the filter section.
my sampler use the 3.00b eos,and i don't have the manual,so i read the 4.00 version manual and it seemed that the filter is located into the "tools 3" section into the FIR folder...but i don't even have the FIR folder.
is my sample missing the whole filter section?if so i'm gonna kill me!!!!!!!
i know that you're bored with this kind of newbie questions but please help me
thx

The FIR filters are used to mangle the samples permanently, if you are talking about filter which you can controll in real time.. you need to create a preset with the sampler.. and then go into edit preset.. there you will find the filter setup :)

i'm so sorry but i did not understand properly...so i'm telling you what i've tried to do.
i've load a library from the scsi cdrom unit and i've found some good moog bass sample and i wish to correct the cutoff frequency with a classic low pass filter. so i went into the sample edit page but i didn't find the fir page...
i'm retarded...sorry but if you can clear rhis up i'll be grateful forever!!!!!
really...imagine i'm a monkey...i'm good with banans but not with samplers

Click the Manage button under Preset, find the preset you want to controll the filter on.. you select preset by spinning the wheel. If there is non presets there, you click new.

then click the edit preset button.

Now select that phat moog sample where it say S000 Empty Sample, then select either v1 or g1 and push EditVce or EditGrp

now you click F3 (Amp/Filt), then click the page Next button until you find the filter page.. here you can turn down the frequency and up the reso while you play your keyboard to listen to the filter changes.

you can also select filter here. To get either a realtime controll of the filter or envelope controll you have to move into the cord pages. I suggest you read the eos manual, because the cord can be a bit advance to explain, and the manual does a realy good job.
