New old school lovin'

So I know I'm not the first and hopefully ya'lls not tired of sayin' the same stuff again, I just found an e6400 for a great deal. I realize why though. Got home and no presets, no FX card, minimal ram, and what not. so My question. How can I upgrade to full ultra status? (as I have read about the classic) and would it be cheaper to just buy an ultra. Can someone point me in a direction here? I paid $14.00 for it so I am willing to spend a bit more to upgrade. I'm super excited to start playing with it. suggestions please....

just browse the buy/sell section for more ram hd and possibly the legendary rfx32...spending only 14 $ sounds like a real steal man...lucky you...

i think it would be cheaper to buy a fully upgraded ultra... the options go quite expensive on ebay and even an ultra motherboard (you have a classic so you will need that if you want to upgrade to ultra status) will cost you almost the price of a non uprgraded ultra.

i bought a classic just to be able to resample quickly from the ultra because i don't have RFX and i find it handy to keep an extra sampler powered on as a sketchpad. that way i can decide afterwards which sounds are worth keeping and resample them back to the ultra.

just keep searching for an upgraded ultra, they go very cheap somethimes.

Well, I got an classic, and there is plenty you can do with it, so don't spend all your time searching for an ultra, but rather play with your classic first and then decide wheter you need an ultra. I find the fx in the classic to be sufficient for live usage.

So I'll do a bit of it all then, I gotta pretend there's nothing more than what I have for now, utilize. The minute I found out I had the base (upgradeable) model I went ape shit trying to find the other pieces, but they will come, just as e6400 did. I live right around the corner from a place called trade up music, used music toys for all. I work with a fella who was lookin' to aquire a classical guitar, I mentioned I was lookin' for a seven string. Well no shit, he had a seven string and we swapped straight across. Gio Ibanez, I had ambition for a complete overhaul but truth is it just sat in the shadow of my others. Trade up gave me an 85 store credit for it, emu was 99, so I paid the difference. 14! Thanks for the feed back.
