The translator works very good on PC (i used it on pc before to convert my emu cd?s and move it to the zip drive). The os x version, isnt that good. but they keep saying it will come.

Yes, I check some similar comments on Translator mac version.

I get 2 old Iomega Zip drives (250 Mo - IDE) for free, from the company I'm working for. I'm gonna install one on my PC so that I 'll be able to edit and store samples from the computer. It still remains just to get a SCSI Zip Drive to connect to the Sampler.

I still have a question about the Zip Format...I'll have to format the zip in EOS, but once formated like that, does the PC will recognize it?

thanks

Let's not mix everything up. Midi sample dump is slow, mono only and prone to errors (though with a little understanding can work nicely).
SMDI is a whole different thing and is in fact SCSI sample dump. It works pretty well and fast and allows transfer of stereo samples. Good SMDI software, like Recycle 2.0, even allows automatic transfer of a loop's slices as individual, auto-mapped samples in the E-mu.

yep absolutely ok with that but the problem here is that I'm on a laptop (macbook), and I don't find pcmcia to scsi card. And, if almost I could find one, i wounldn t be 100% sure of the compatibility between the sampler and the computer...

do you know what kind of card works well to connect a laptop and the EMU Esynth?

because in your first post you talk about an adaptec card, but it's a pci one...

or maybe an USB - scsi card would work too?

ok no pb, anyway, i definitely stop wondering how could I use SCSI transfer from macbook to ESynth...

best way seems to be 2 separate zip drives, I'll try as soon as I get the second drive.

cheers

no

Zip Format?

you mean "Fat" Format. you need EOS 4.7 for this Setup.

hello,

I've finaly update to EOS 4.62 on the ESynth and every thing work well.
I've installed an external 8Gb SCSI disk so I can now store samples easily.
I get a version of Recycle 2.0 and installed it on my PC, I'm just waiting to get a PCI --> SCSI card so I could ship samples in SCSI.

Thanks everybody for your help and advises, very usefull.
