No Sound On Analog or ADAT Inputs (E4XT)

Postby dahknee » Mon Apr 14, 2008 5:13 am

I'm having issues getting my E4XT to sample via the analog or ADAT inputs. To eliminate a cable problem, I hooked my E6400 to the my analog source and the E6400 recorded just fine.

I've tried turning up the ADC gain, different channels for ADAT w/different sync sources.

Nothing seems to register on the VU meter. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: Last night I noticed that a jumper wire broke off it's solder connection.

Is it standard for the E4XT main board to have jumper wires & resistors soldered to different points on top of the board? To me it looks like the main board in my E4XT was modded/repaired.

I need someone (if anybody) with the same mod/repair to post where the jumper wire soldered to resistor "RN38" connects. Most of the other jumpers are connected between resistors and capacitors (ie C100).

The service manual would be great too.

I figured out that the lead goes to the U26 microchip. Just not sure which pin. I tried a few and was able to get analog input but still no ADAT sound. The timing for ADAT works just no sound on the input.

If someone that has the same mod could please lookto see which pin/s if any on the U26 chip has a soldered lead.
