Amplitude Crossfade Tutorial

Postby ezman » Tue Sep 09, 2003 9:53 pm

Man this almost killed me.

The crossfade tutorial is here. Feedback is appreciated. It's been quite difficult to do but hopefully someone will understand me!

Have a go. There's a sample to download as well. It's probably not the best example sound to use so feel free to choose your own. Don't worry though you should hear the crossfade effect clearly as long as it's a pretty longish sample (or preferably a loop).

Thanks for the cool tutorial. I do have a question. I downloaded the dusty sample and I am now at the following step that requests that I put both samples in preset. The sample I downloaded contains only one sample. Should I duplicate the sample and load it twice into the Emu?

You only need the one. Get a loop going with it in loop editor. Then in your new preset you should have v1 using dusty, then create a new voice v2 and assign it to the same sample. No need to duplicate. You'll just be transposing the sample +12 in one voice (v1) - any more questions let me know. I don't think anybody else has actually done the tutorial   :???:

Yo EZMAN,

wicked tutorial, works great. I come from an AKAI background so your step-by-step has helped me endlessly :slayer:

One thing though homie, when the cossfade hits mid point i get a muffled sort of crossover  , can you make it seemlees?

Also i really did not not get anything when i assigned the LFO and did the settings

I must say the tutorial opened lots of doors for me man, thank you for that it has been my most used resource as with Dillusions peak shelf morph essay on DOA.

Peace
