Checking FLASH... Help please

Postby lapun » Mon Mar 02, 2009 2:05 pm

Hi All,

My e5000 ultra (4.01) has decided to not load up today.

Verifying checksum...
system found in FLASH...
Verifying csum: 0x055366d4

Checking FLASH...

This is as far as it gets?

All of the following hasn't worked -
- Multiple restarts
- Opening unit and re-attaching everything
- Replacing DRAM behind flash with e6400 DRAM
- Reloading operating system (loads but ends up at the same point)

Sound like the FLASH needs help?

If I replace the with the DRAM and flash from the 6400 ultra is this dangerous?

I live in Australia and don't think we have an EMU service centre.

All help greatly appreciated.

No changes have been made to voltages ect. It was a work horse for years and then just all of a sudden it's stopped. A friend has told me to try and replace the parts - flash and 4mb/8mb ram next to it, so I guess i'll try that next?

What about doing a FLASH PREP and then updating to EOS 4.70? Give that a try, since I think it will reflash the EMU.
