simple filter question.....

Postby rlz00 » Thu Mar 19, 2009 8:03 am

new emu user here, my question is...when using a longer sample does the sample need to start over to here a filter change. in other words I have a long ambient layer and Im trying to tweek the cutoff over the course of the sample but it only changes when the samples starts over at the beginning of the loop again. this cant be right..can it?? not much of a problem when you are using short loops or beats but surely there has got to be a way to do this. only had my emu about week...any help is much appreciated.

Which sampler do you have and how did you set up your controller (knob) for realtime tweaking?

Concerning the Ultras, if I remember correctly, this behaviour exists with filter resonnance (NOTE ON related), but changes of filter cut-off should work at any time.

I have the E4XT....OS 4.7....I dont have a controller so I was using the dial to tweek in real time. still doesn't work until "note on". however it does work if I draw it in nuendo and set the cord to the proper control source.
still kinda disappointed though about the lack of real time....hopefully this is not the case when I hook up a controller.
