I've got a very basic question concerning the RFX-32 card.

Here's my setup:

Multi-Page: Channel 1: Submix --> Mixer
Mix-Page: Channel 1: BUS1 send 100%
RFX-Bus-Page: Bus 1: 1) Chorus 20% wet/dry 2) Compressor 100% wet/dry

Question 1) Is the audio signal actually going into the chorus effect (1) first and thereafter into the compressor (2),
i.e. do the ascending effect numbers represent effect order inside the bus?

Question 2) Is the audio signal that enters the compressor the raw instrument signal, or is it already processed by the chorus?

Answer 1) the effects are in series, so the audio goes to the chorus, then the compressor.

Answer 2) the signal that enters the compressor is the output of the chorus.

To be precise, what is the output of the chorus? Is it a mixture of 80% original sound with 20% of chorus FX signal?!?

Yes

That makes me think that the FX Busses are INSERTS by nature rather than the FX SEND/RETURN structure found on mixing consoles, because there is no real bypass.
Or is this the point where usage of the GLOBAL FX may be helpful. I think the manual somewhere states that the GLOBAL FX are beneficial
if you want - for example - a bit of reverb on every channel.

They can be either, depending on how you set them up. Each voice can be routed to up to 4 busses, and the fx sends for each one can be modulated using a midi cc. The busses can then be routed to the main out directly, and/or to either/both of the GFX busses. Alternatively, you can route any of the busses directly to any of the sub outs.

If you want to be able to have fx on individual voices as inserts, and have a global fx send for all voices then just route the voice exclusively to a buss, and then route the output of that buss to one of the GFX busses. Unfortunately, the level of the send between the buss and the GFX buss cannot be modulated, so you have to preset it :(
