I think the problem is that there is probably a decent amount of code and technology that has been reused in their software samplers. Additionally, in order to make it worthwhile they would have to provide documentation for their proprietary filter chips, which again leaves them open to having their IP stolen.
The only way it is ever going to happen is if a developer can persuade them to give them access to the code and development tools under a NDA.
