Will the ADAT board for the Emu E4XT Ultra operate without the RFX32 card? Or is it an integral part of its operation?

Hello!
There are two ADAT boards available for the Ultras.
6866 - RFX Adat Option (works only with the RFX-32)
6861 - 16out/8 in ADAT Upgrade for all E4 Series (except e64)
The second one is for the Units without the RFX-32 Card
