An easy way to copy a CD onto my E-Synth internal hard disk?

Postby mingle » Tue May 20, 2008 5:58 am

Hi (again!),

Since I now have a SCSI CD-R drive, I'd like to transfer the contents of my EIIIx CD-ROMs onto the internal SCSI hard drive of my E-Synth.

Question is; how to do it without having to individually load each bank, then save it on the hard disk???

Please tell me there's a simple way! :-)

Cheers,

Mike.

I don't think you can use the Backup function on CD-ROMs. Somebody has already asked this question in another thread, I think.

Hi,

Oh well, I'm going to be busy then!

Unless ZoeOS can help out?

Is there a backup function which allows copying between harddisks?

Cheers,

Mike.

You can backup between HDs using the E-mu sampler and nothing else but it doesn't work on CDs. So I am told...

HI you can load one cd at a time on top the emu sampler and then save/ back it up to your hard drive. for the 8 cds it should take like an hour.

You have to do it a bank at a time though - so it depends how many banks are on the CD.

Wrong answer. You CAN copy whole CD in one way to HDD using "backup" function. Read the manual or this thread : viewtopic-f=9&t=2335.php.html

only works on EMu formatted CDs as far as I can see

you must remember to select 'use empty' under the 'destination folder/bank numbers' otherwise it will overwrite any folder/banks that are the same on your internal drive

works like a dream: I've copied my entire EMu Sample CD collection onto Jaz disks last week
