Hi, yeah tried re-installing it only to be told that Emu rushed the software out without FXs. Emu are not responding to any emails sent and Digital Village seem not to want to rock the boat with Emu, saying they will not try stock X3s to test them as they are boxed ???

Hi KDF,

you have to distinguish between FX A & FX B that can be setup within each Preset AND AUX FX1, FX2 & FX3 that can be setup in the Multisetups.
FX A & FX B can be used in addition to the AUX FX in the Multisetup.

Try this one:
(I assume that a Bank with some Presets is loaded.)
- Click on the Sampler-Icon. Now you can see the Single Channel View & the Multisetup View (the 4 tabs, each with 16 MIDI-Channels).
- In the lower right corner you see AUX OUTPUTS. Here you can route each AUX to one of your available Outputs.
- Set these outputs to the same output the Preset is routed to.
- Click on the SINGLE-tab to check the OUTPUT of your Preset. Modify the routing if necessary.
- Select e.g. AUX FX1 in the upper right corner, then right-click on the FX-Slot, select e.g. one of the Reverb-FX from the Template list and set the Dry/Wet amount to WET.
- Select the Preset in the Explorer (left window frame). Now you see some Global Settings of the Preset.
- On the right side you see PRESET EFFECTS with FX A & FX B and you can see the POST-FX SENDS with 4 encoders (Main, AUX 1, AUX 2, AUX 3).
- Here you can set the FX-amount for the whole Preset.
- Play/Trigger your Preset and turn the encoder for AUX 1 clockwise. Now you should hear the FX of AUX 1.
- You can also select an effect for FX A and/or FX B.
- You can set the FX-amount for each Voice in the Preset.

HI MOSROB , thank you for the info , this i followed to the letter , but after loading a sound bank the AUX FX 1 , AUX FX S 2 AUX FX S 3 all show the word [ NONE ] in the FXs window, clicking the downward arrow should bring the FXs in as a list..........nothing , we have reinstalled the whole thing three to four times , the FXs look as if they are not in the software at all . Thanks again for your input regarding this problem.

I also got EX3 from Digital Village.
I'm using the 32-bit version on WinXP, actually without any issues.

Maybe your issue is related to the OS (WinXP/Vista/7), the resolution (32-/64-bit) or another installed program, like an Antivirus.
Copy the installation files to your local HD and restart the computer in safe-mode. Run the installation again, restart your PC in standard-mode and check if the FX are available.

What about Proteus VX?
FX in EX3 and Proteus VX are the same.
Download & install it and check again.
Do you have the folder "C:\PROGRAMS\Creative Professional\Emulator X Family\Templates\Effects" ??

Hi,
I spotted this searching for other information.

This problem is a win7 64 bit problem. You have to email emu detailing the issue and they will send you a .reg file to fix it all up for you.

Hope this helps.
