Cant load Wav from floppy on e6400?

My recently purchased E6400 Classic will not load wav file from floppy. Files are in 16bit stereo format. Tried with mono also, but no go.
However it recognizes diskette, but trying to load gives "unknown file error".
The system is Eos 3.00b.
Any clue?

Loading/writing .WAV and .AIFF files via floppy drive was first introduced with EOS 4.01 !

Ok, didnt know that. So I need to stick to CD or PC for transfer...

You could upgrade to EOS 4, the latest Classic EOS is 4.62. But you need the 2 MB Flash Ram module.
