I was looking at getting an ASCI kybd for my E-Synth. Good idea or waste of time. I noticed that most of the asci kybds that I looked at have what looks like a phone jack at the end. Can this be changed to the one that is needed on the back of the sampler?

Good idea.
You need a ASCII keyboard with a DIN-plug: e.g. Cherry G81-1800, G83-6104, G83-6105
Or look for a used ASCII keyboard with DIN-plug.

Buy a ps2 keyboard from ebay. I like the mini keyboards (these are laptop size and use less space sitting nicely on top of my master keyboard)

I have just done this and it worked a treat.
It is a very cheap mod if you have a ps2 keyboard kicking around as the adaptor is £1.67 delivered

A full size IBM-style keyboard (such as the one Jahfunk posted above) is handy, because the keys you use to navigate EOS are peripheral ones: F1-F6, F10-F12, the arrow keys, page up/down, alt, ctrl, +/-, etc. These keys tend to be reduced in size on smaller keyboards.
