Just wondering after reading so many posts on here involving technical knoweledge of computer hardware, why someone isn't looking to produce new expansions(like usb etc) for older hardware. Im guessing that there is enough of a market to make it worthwile, take scsiforsamplers for eg, why would they bother releasing modern tech products for samplers if there wasn't a bit of cash to be made. Ive also noticed on forums more and more people who always wanted to get a hardware sampler have recently done so as they sell for so little these days- a small enough market that could grow instead of fade-just a thought anyhow.

It's all about money.
E-mu is a company who wants to earn money selling music gears.
They are not interested in keeping up expensive support on old stuff

SCSIforsamplers only have to worry about SCSI compatibility, Russ. And they can sell their devices to a wide range of sampler users. An E-mu Ultra USB expansion would require someone to tinker with EOS, and the product would have a much smaller number of potential buyers. Not so easy to make money...
