Z plane filters

Postby JackT1989 » Wed Nov 24, 2010 9:44 pm

Hello, i just bought an e6400 classic, quick question really; I have head loads about the z plane filters in the emu samplers. Do i have them? If not is there anyway to get them in the classic? Thanks in advance for anyone who can tell me, think i will sell it to try and get an Ultra if the classic doesn't

Hey there.

Yes you got them. They are under "Preset Edit" and then you have to either hit "Edit Voice" or if you grouped some samples it's on "Edit Group" or you go to "Global" and then "Edit All", which will affect all your sounds in the preset.

Then you have to click on the "Amp/Filter" point and there you got to click "Next" until you get to the Filter Page. Then just change the Type (with the wheel) until you get the last Type (i think the last 3 or 4 have a lot of similarities. not sure if all of em are z-planes and i don't got the Emu here *G*).

So your Filter type to begin would be: Peak / Shelf Morph

Regarding the Parameters you can Edit there check out:
http://www.dillusion.co.uk/pdf/Dillusio ... al_WEB.pdf

Try out some Settings and try to Modulate the "morph" parameter with whatever you like. Because then the filters will interpolate (between the low and high morph frame with the settins you made there). If you got a Midi Keyboard assign ModWheel to FilterCutoff for ex. turn the wheel and listen :)
