DOWNLOADABLE C/C SYNTHS - JAHFUNKS TARDIS

JAHFUNKS TARDIS
Small outside, but BIG inside.
This bank is under 1MB and contains nearly 50 uninspiring micro samples looped to create waveforms.
If you have ever messed with an analogue synth you will know the raw oscillators are a bit naff, it's the number of oscillators and filtering that makes it sing.

The point of this bank is to use these waveforms as the oscillators in the E-mu Ultra synth engine. These oscillators have been stacked LFO modulated, filtered and generally mangled into 30 presets, the last preset is a drum kit.

This bank has evolved over a few sound design sessions, with raw waveforms added in a random way. Sometimes I found that the sample wouldn't pitch as high as needed, so a second lower rate version would be created with the sample rate converter allowing the new waveform to pitch an octave or so higher.

Presets
P000 - P019 = JF SYNTH 1-20 (various synths)
P020 - P024 = VIRTUAL SYNC 1-5 (oscillator sync emulations)
P025 - P027 = SUPERSAW, SUPERSQUARE, SUPERTRI (stacked detuned synths)
P028 - JAH HOOVER (a wobbley hoover type monosynth)
P029 - 8 BIT MARIO (a nice oldschool chip sound that uses an LFO to modulate octave jumps)
P030 - SYNTHETIC DRUM KIT (SDS5 & Analogue Drum Machine type sounds)

All synths presets have been mapped to controllers as follows

Controller A - White Noise Pitch (0 = Low - 127 = High)
Controller B - Filter Freq (0 = Off – 127 = Full)
Controller C - Filter Res (0 = Off – 127 = Full)
Controller D – Portamento Amount (0 = Off – 127 = Full)
Controller E - Filter Envelope Attack (0 = Fast – 127 = Slow)
Controller F - Filter Envelope Decay (0 = Fast – 127 = Slow)
Controller G - Filter Envelope Release (0 = Fast – 127 = Slow)
Controller H – White Noise Level (0 = Max Volume - 127 = Off)
Controller I - Amp Envelope Attack (0 = Fast – 127 = Slow)
Controller J - Amp Envelope Decay (0 = Fast – 127 = Slow)
Controller K- Amp Envelope Release (0 = Fast – 127 = Slow)
Controller L – Sub Oscillator Level (0 = Max Volume – 127 = Off)

Exceptions to controller maps are as follows

P020 - P024 - VIRTUAL SYNC

Controller A - Sub Oscillator Level (0 = Max Volume – 127 = Off)
Controller H – Sync Fall Rate (0 = Off - 127 = Max)
Controller L – Sync Start Pitch (0 = Off – 127 = Max 2 Octave)

Try setting H about halfway (60) and L full (127) and then experiment.

P029 8 BIT MARIO

Controller A - LFO Rate (0 = Fast – 127 = Slow)

ENJOY

Great Thread.

...but we need for this kind of Stuff a new working Forum or Side .

Maybe we go to Yahoo Groups ?

BTW : emu-sampler. is getting closed on 25.july

Oh, before seeing this thread by coincidence I just yesterday tried to load a few one cycle waves from Adventure Kid's page to my E6400 Ultra. It's so much fun with good old synthesis. Also, see the visual guide to waveforms, it's easier to select visually first and then load.

To load the samples via MIDI I've followed this tutorial, works like a charm.
