WANTED: WAV Samples Recorded from an Emu

Postby muckleby » Fri May 18, 2012 12:48 am

I've heard good things about the sound of old 6400s and am thinking of picking one up.
But I'd really like to hear what the hype is about first.
So was wondering if anyone would be up for posting some examples of breakbeats (Amen, Think, Soul Pride etc.) recorded out of one?
Or better yet take some samples from me, Emu-ise them and send them back...
I would make it worth your while of course $$ !

ive got my eye on an e64 at the mo now, from what i read these have the most character and thats what im looking for -
i'll most likely just record samples in and back into my soft sampler. using an e4x as an fx unit like that would be criminal!

goto youtube:

search for fracture and neptune studio reports, they make dnb from the isle and the use an EMU6400Ultra. In some Video you can hear their sound, but the quality of the EMU you can`t assessing.

search also on youtube "chop amen break emu" . there you`ll find a demonstration on an EMU6400Ultra.

So on MFP house you got an Overview of the Souind from an EMU without Drums. Its not necessary, cause why should Drumsounds sound different as Pads???? Okay i know there some Details, i.e. look to an AKAI S1000 etc.

The EMU was a Sampler Flagship in his Era.

I posted the link for you, cause i listened also before i bought my Unit.

I owned a old MPC before i bought an EMU. I can say the EMU is much better as a Main Station in a Studio. I`m building up System at the Moments (toooooooo much work :( ) .

The MPC i will use again, for short loops or drop ins

thanks man, i've found a lot of those vids already and its encouraging, cos they all sound pretty sweet!
however without hearing the original sound sources, it's not really possible to hear the character of the emu itself.
they could just be good samples...
anyway im gonna jump in and find out for myself, can't find a bad word said about the e series.

when you search at google a little bit, you will find some reviews of EMUs and Akais.

I read a good Contribition to Hardware Samplers, i dont know where. But my Choice was the EMU ;)

you like the EMU or not.
