Help! Looking for IRs!

Postby snaper » Fri Apr 05, 2013 6:19 am

Hy,

Im developing a plugin/device for Ableton Live in MAX, an IR based "tone-filter".
The "engine" is now working, there an IR filter, a simple EQ, a gen-programmed Valve Warmth emulation, but now I need to load up the IR folder.

Im looking for IRs from samplers (Akai, E-Mu), valve preamps, old tape recorders, UAD plugins (specially the Pultec), etc.

If you could help me, I can send you a blank IR file, you just have to record it with your device, then send back the result.

Are you interested, could somebody help me?

An IR with the Emu's Peak-Shelf (with factory settings) would be really gooood too.

Unfortunately I've sold my Akai and E-Mu samplers

Here is the link for the blank IR :

Of course, who will help, will get the Live device for free, or the whole IR library. (If not an Ableton user.)

Nobody?

Maybe I wasn't clear. With this technology you can add the EMU converters color into every channel in your session.

Actually this is kind of a good idea. Rather than sampling the emus sound I'd sample the linear phase filter responses at different settings (Or do you know another 99 pole (!!!) filter?). This filter takes a looooot of time for processing, so I guess, if you just sample it and then use it's IR in the daw, we have both advantages of hardware and software :) Would this work?

It could be work...
The best would be to split the Cutoff into, I dont know maybe 127 parts, (0 is the 0 Hz, 127 is 20000 Hz) then assign all of the IRs into different positions of a knob :D:D
(Just like what the Replicator HW did.)

Could you run the IR through the peak-shelf morph filter (with the factory setting).
Lot of people are interested about that sound:D

In the other hands, if you have some freetime, you could run through the IR in the ADs too...I just love the sound of the Emu conversion :D

This device will be a box with lot of tones, not only from Emu-s, but from tape recordes, valve preamps and a lot of different hardwares. (I already have IRs from headphones, microphone and crappy tape decks :D)

You can also use Emulator X3 and sweep through all filters.
Beside the 50 Z-Planes that are also available in the P2K-series EX3 has about 68 Filters that are made with the Morph Designer.

Nah, I'm talking about the Linearphase filter in the sampledit menu, it's incredible!

Will have a look at it, as I can use my sampler again. I'm currently waiting for a few cables and adapters to arrive, so I can install the cardreader which finally arrived.

cheers
