Hey All,
A long time ago I had the Holy Grail expansion ROM. I took the samples and copied them into an e4b bank and never really touched them since. I decided to spend some time today recreating the holy grail preset on my EMU.
I managed to map the mezzo forte and forte samples to the proper keys, set the velocity ranges and programmed the sustain samples to trigger when the pedal is hit. I also threw in the hammer on and hammer off noises.. All fairly simple stuff. It is starting to sound pretty good but I am having trouble programming the final touch: the "pedal stomp" sound
This sound should trigger only when the sustain pedal is pressed down. i have been experimenting doing it with some chords but have met a dead end. here's what i've done so far
I start with the volume for the voice associated with the 'pedal stomp' sample set to -96 and this chord set up
FtSw1 -> AmpVol + 30% (%30 is just the "right" volume for me at present)..
and
FtSw1 -> SRetrig - 100%
This way whenever i can play keys but the sound of the pedal doesn't come through until i press my sustain pedal on the midi controller. At that point it is triggered from the beginning of the sample at the volume I want
Unfortunately, there is a problem! If i keep the sustain pedal held down, the 'pedal stomp' sound continues to trigger every time i hit a note..
I'll have to keep experimenting but for the time being i have hit a wall. There is nothing in the manual about using FtSw1 or 2 to only trigger notes.. But there has to be something in the patch chords that will let me do this.. Any ideas?
I hope to get this sorted out and will be happy to post the bank for those who want to check it out!
Cheers,
