There is a link to a samplers page at oempcworld (on the left) - choosing emu ultras gives you the product above. Several people here have ordered these from there. They work fine.

yes, but...

for the problematic RAM [ the little 8MB Preset RAM ] , there is a need for 8 MB or 16 MB...there is no such offer overthere...

and again:

2K / 4K...whatz the difference?

please...

For those of u who have bad memories....the EMU with take EDO OR FPM. it just cant take the rare ECC which is an error correction cycling ram.

It must me 70ns or faster and must comply to the JDEC Standard. There is no mention of refresh rates.

Hi!

Would like to add, that Sample RAM modules can NOT be double sided Simms either!... I once tried two 64MB modules of such, and they did not work. Double sided RAM Simms usually have chips on BOTH sides of the print.

NO - SIMMS (single inline memory modules) that means chips on 1 side

DIMMS have double banks of memory -chips on BOTH side.....

i know...

razmo says: I once tried two 64MB modules of such, and they did not work. Double sided RAM Simms usually have chips on BOTH sides of the print.

and i was pointing to the DIMMs...

anyhow, i will try changing the SIMMS as soon as i get hand on 16MB module...why jus a few guys tried that...it seems that cm_lokus is happy!

word, i'm happy too since changing it...my friend Klaseed just threw a random 8MB SIMM he had lying around in and WA-BAM!
the odd thing is this: changing the preset RAM fixed all of CM_LOCUSS's bugs (random panning AND outbursts). but what CM_LOCUSS and i shared was another problem: freezing. i've only seen me and him on this whole forum have this exact problem. our E4's crashed like mad in 4.7 w/ RFX and froze still in 4.61 (but with more fatal Gen Trap errors). but changing this 8MB Preset RAM (although he used a full 16MB) fixed the freezing completely for us both! unfortunately, i've never used my E4 (until now) so i didn't have known problems w/ random panning/ourbursts, so now i can't say those bugs are fixed for me as well. i can't say i've experienced them yet though (fingers crossed)!!
while razmo seems to have found the exact cause for the "random panning" bug, which is tied to EOS viewtopic.php?t=346&start=45, it still is a mystery how CM_LOCUSS got everything fixed by changing this Preset RAM.
we really need people (D2K, i know you're working on it) who experience either bug (rp/outburst) to try swapping this RAM....just so once and for all we know if it will work for everyone. D2K, you think we should open a new thread to tell people who have these bugs to try this fix and report there? i'd be happy to do it, but i guess we'll need the super specifics on the RAM like you're trying to get here.

4MB DRAM

Postby division2000 » Mon Jan 05, 2004 8:20 pm

i just got hand on one E5000 lying around and i took DRAM out, put it into RAM slot and it showed only 4 MB!
is this normal or not? i guess i can not use it with E4 or Platinum as u gusy said it is 8MB or 16MB?

anyone?

D2K, this is probably normal. I think different models have different preset RAM, although i thought all E4's had 8MB standard. Anyhow, less is fine, I'm assuming, for this test. Just DIFFERENT RAM...preferrably non-EMU related RAM, but try this one out anyway. Don't worry if it's only 4MB...just see if it stops your bugs and if it doesn't, try to find a 8 (or 16)MB non EMU related SIMM...kinda hard to find these days, i know.
