emusonacid! legacy

so here's an easy one someone out there must be knowing:
of course, my E4 can read an emu formatted CD with my SCSI CD-ROM drive. but shouldn't the damn thing be able to read .wav's off a CD-R too? I'm running EOS 4.70 btw. Is this just how it is or do I need a different CD-ROM drive that's maybe more compatible or something?

Also, is it me or can you not "select all" when loading up a ton of samples from a folder? this drives me nuts. on my Kurzweil K2500RS, I could just hit "select all", load, and load like 1000 samples at once. with the E4, it's just load em one after another, isn't it?
of course once they're all loaded they can be saved out as a bank, but damn, i got a couple CD's w/ over 1000 samles i wanna load!! WTF...i'll go crazy for sure.

Sorry man...wavs (omit superfluous comma) aren't E4 format and won't be read by the sampler from an ISO9660 cd-rom. You'll have to load them with an SMDI compatible program like Sound Forge/Wavelab over SCSI... Yeah, it sucks.

Here's an idea that may work if you have software to partition a hard drive and also to burn drive images.

Partition your computer hard drive into 2, and make one partition 650 meg FAT32. Now copy the desired wav files to the 650meg partition and then burn an image of this FAT32 drive.

This idea was discussed briefly before on this forum and the conclusion was that it should. I never got round to doing it as the computer was not not mine and the owner did not one their drive partitioned, we went the scsi zip route.

I'd be interested to see if it works.

right, or i could just transfer the samples on CD to a Jaz/Zip drive which the E4 loads wavs off of, right?
also, i can't believe there isn't a "select all" features for loading samples after all these EOS versions.

The backup function should do this for you man...Nads
