I need another 8 outputs for one of my EMU's. If anyone has recently
upgraded their machine with RFX and they have a redundant??6313 (8 Analog
Output Expander) , please mail me.

EMU no longer has these available for sale due to the end of like status
of ALL hardware samplers.

well, unfortunately i can't offer you one...don't have one myself.
although i will say to check ebay here and there.

i got my RFX card off Ebay a few months back and for only $250!
oh, also, maybe look for people selling an E4 that has this option and ask them to sell the card to you on the side.

Luckily i have managed to source a card. The dude hasn't used it for a longtime an needs to test it out before he offers it to me. Hopefully in the next week or so. I have been preparing for this by frantically buying bits and pieces for the future in case some problems arise and parts wont be available.

So far i have 3 E4 Ultra based machines fully maxed out with all options aside from one machine that only has 8 outs...hopefully ill have the extra 8 soon. Ill leave one machine boxed up in storage hopefully the other 2 dont break down ;-)

wh..wh...WHAT?!!? 8 o/p expander is no longer available? ..damn.

so anyway, I was raging mad, pissed of, at my lack of foresight in being able to predict the demise of hardware upgrades along with the base samplers.. So i had a search around ebay, music stores, second-hand music stores, etc etc....got even more pissed of..no joy. And then i started taking note of the price of complete second hand ultra samplers, in various states of upgrade. Alot of theses samplers were selling for roughly the same price as the 8 o/p expansion. I haven't thought through this properly . but if i got 2 samplers, e.g 2 emu e5000's, to what extent would they be able to work with each other?.... would they be able to share an IDE hard drive? ...... Would they be able to transfer banks, samples, presets to and fro with each other with not a huge amount of fuss via scsi? ..... would it give me 32 midi channels? .... infact fuck emu (i'm still pissed) maybe i could get a Z4, what with variety being the spice of life an' all that. Hmmm......nah i love my emu
