Hi guys! :O)

I read that you worry much about the X sounding the same as the E4. The H chip, I suppose, is nothing more than a kind of DSP chip made specifically for the filters in the hard samplers. The filters are digital, and this means that it's numbers'n'algorithms, so if the algorithms are just the same in the X they should sound the same, no matter what processing device is doin' the crunching. The only possible difference would be the converters, but I doubt that there will be much difference. I think the magic is on the number crunching! :O) ... I recall, that the filter code was re-created for the R-FX, since the old routing possibilities was inflexible info from EMU themselves). As long as the signal is digital, everything should be reproducable 1:1

I'm surely looking foreward to the X, mainly because of the converters. I'm using analog mixing of my synths, so sampling with a pro-converter like on the X at 192Khz would certainly be nice! Also for mastering purposes on the PC. And to be honest, I am getting tired of the irritating way you have to transfer to/from the Ultra, so having your entire on the HD in a PC will REALLY be nice. I can finally throw that f...... SCSI card to hell ;O)

Just my view on it.

P.S. I've not been promissed a new EOS version by EMU! ... I'm just taking that they will, because why would they even ask for bug-reports, and explain about their own bug-rsearch-issues on this forum and Emusaic list if they are not investigating? ... I believe they will make a final bug-free version, but it may be a while probably, and they'll need our help...
Regards, Jess D. Skov-Nielsen.
