Triggering video via midi?

Postby wrecker13 » Wed Dec 24, 2003 11:36 am

So maybe this isn't so much an EMU question but I'd like to know how to trigger viseo effects or still images via midi. Could you do this with the midi out from the EMU? Or would you have to rout it from your sequencer to some other program? :grumble:

I think you will need another program with your sequencer. For example, in cakewalk pro audio that i have, i have this very ability. I believe that even the higher versions like sonar still have this ability. You can actualy play your song to a video that is running in the back ground.

Of course you would have to have some special video card to be able to record the audio and video together. But then now, with the advent of dvd, you could burn them over to dvd or on a cd.

But that is all i know about this. I haven't even really tried doing anything like that, so i don't really know.

Take a look at Cycling 74's Jitter. I saw it at NAMM, and was pretty impressed. I do a lot of work with video software, and Jitter seemed like a real next-step kinda thing to me.
