new ram don't work? in my esynth ultra

Postby space echo » Mon Feb 16, 2004 8:05 am

Hello,

i just received 2 64 meg ram chips, i ordered from ebay and i can't get them to work.

The specs are:

two 64mb of EDO (extended data output) ram with tin leads, 60ns, non parity, 4K refresh rate, and 5 volts micron brand.

Should these work?? i figured that it's kind of unlikley that neither work??

i have tried them seperatley and together, each time the emu says that 0mb or ram is installed.

Any clues would be appreciated.

Any idea if it's ECC RAM ?

They won't work in the Emu samplers.

Seems like a good place with fair prices but their biggest block of RAM is 32 megs.

Thanks for replying with your suggestions everyone!

i checked the oempcworld site and it looks like their description of their ram is identical to the kind i bought over ebay...

maybe they are the same seller that actually sold me my ram...

i think i'll try to see if this ram works in a computer before i do a return.

thanks.

4K refresh rate

Postby yoeljacobsen » Mon Jul 05, 2004 12:54 pm

Oddly www.oempcworld.com recommends SIMMs with 4K refresh rate for E-MU ultra samplers. It is not supported according to this document from E-MU knowledge base. This might be the reason the SIMM didn't work for the poster who started this thread.
