Jaz drive problem

Postby elemental » Tue Mar 02, 2004 5:38 pm

I just got an old Jaz drive off eBay, tried to use it with the E4XT (from which I am transferring data for loading into my new e6400 Ultra)

BUT - it dont seem to work at the moment... I tried it without the 'Jaz Traveller' adapter thing first, and the emu recognised it, but when I tried to format the disk it said something like SCSI drive not recognised (???).

When I tried it with the adapter, it spent a few minutes mounting, then only came up with a floppy drive!!

Anyone know what this is? Hope not a dodgy Jaz drive...

Cheers.

Are you absolutely sure you have the Jaz drive set to another SCSI ID than the sampler, and that it is correctly terminated ?

Found the problem ... dodgy Jaz disk. Now it works like a charm!! Backed up the entire 2Gb hard disk in one go!
