i'm cursed once again

Postby cm_locuss » Fri Apr 30, 2004 6:13 pm

So yesterday i recieved the adat I/O kit (8ins/16outs), installed it into my emu. since i was using outputs 1-8 as analog outs i decided to use 9-16 for adat into my tascam dm-24, channels 17-24. so i started to send sounds to the new busses i have. i started with bus4, played a chopped loop through bus4, and the rest of my tune was played through the main, sub 1,2, and3.
i proceeded to send sounds to the other busses. i sent some hihats to sub 5 played my tune back....everything was fine then BRRRPRRRRR...this LOUD sound that sounded like a saw wave test tone, randomly bursted through sub2. so i removed the hats being played from sub5 and everything was fine....sent some sounds to sub 6, and the same thing happened again....and out of sub 2 again. then i thought it could have something to do with my sub bass which i run out of sub2. so i switched my sub to sub 3 and everything that i had on sub 3 to sub 2....played my tune back and BRRRRRRRPRRRRR....same noise but it followed my sub bass...then removes the sounds going to sub 6 played my tune and everything was fine, no bursts.
so whenever i sent sounds to sub 5,6,7, and have the mains, subs 1,2,3, running as well, it causes something to overdrive my sub bass for some odd reason. has anyone had this problem.....am i doing something wrong?
i would appreciate some suggestions...i hope i wasn't too confusing....ez..and thanks in advance.

yes, i am using 4.7. but after i changed the d-ram in the sampler it cured all the bugs. (random panning, fatal error messages...etc.etc.etc..).
the only thing that i think it might be, or i hope its is, is the cable could be defective. but i can't replace it with another until i'm in the studio next, which is probably sunday.

hmm, the ram change in my sampler never cured my noiseburst problem and what you describe sounds like what I get.

try seeing if it stops by switching filters away from 4/6 pole low pass and flanger lite?

good luck!
