XP and EMU - 'found new hardware' nightmare!

Postby ezman » Sun Mar 28, 2004 9:00 pm

So i got my new pc running (switched from mac, not sure was such a good idea yet!) I followed steps at tweaks for installing the emu onto xp. so it pops up 8 times saying found the emu and i go through the motions and i can use it fine. When i reboot though I have to do it all over again. I thought you just did it once and that was it. Anybody else ever have this problem. Someone please tell me it ain't supposed to work this way...

yeah you can get dummy drivers from the Chicken Systems site, that should prevent it.

i had this problem too .. but i think you have to let your pc search for your sampler .. just let the install process fail ..you have to do the whole install process.. after that you won?t have any problems ...

the .dll patch from chicken blah blah .. is for windows 98 ... unuseable for xp ...

oh okay then, everytime it popped up i was unticking the box that said 'don't ask me again' thinking i was telling it to 'not ask me again' - took me a few weeks to realise what i was doing :biglaugh:

if you know what to do -> there is NO stress ...

by the way .. when you install a new os on your emu, your pc will recognise your sampler as "new" hardware... ;-)
