I make drum n bass, I want to add delay to a vocal stab, question is - how much percentage do you add in the FX B Engine? The track is at 175 BPM, is there a formula where BPM is a function of the Percentage of delay so that the sample is kept in time? Emu should have the option where you can tune a delay in with BPM......

hi mate. the percentage is totally up to you. There is no right and wrong answer and the amount of delay you want to add will up to your preference and taste.

now.. I am assuming you are stating your bpm info and such cause you want the delay to be on time with your track? I'm not sure if there is this in the standard effects of the emu but you need a tempo delay to do that. I know the rfx has that where you can punch in the bpm of your song and then choose whether you want 1/4 notes, half notes, whole notes etc for your delay.

cheers rippin! I hear what your saying - I agree there is know right or wrong - if it sounds good then it is! I don't have RFX so maybe I can make a cord? You know LFO - sample trigger etc.....

In Master Effect B window theres a 'delay time' setting.

enter the bpm of your track
It will give you a choice of settings for the delay time setting!

Also just realized you can sync your LFO's quite closely using this calc - just use the hz settings!

Will try this stuff first thing tmw morning...I have another questions for you, with a sequencer and emu how would you make a pattern that can simulate a helicopter taking off? But all in time at lets say again at 175bpm? Im trying different cord patches , but not getting any where....

Erm...dunno about the helicopter taking off - wouldn't it like get faster (ie. like the blades start rotating faster) and therefore not stay in time? It could easily be done with pitch. Assign the Aux envelope to pitch and then an LFO synced to your Filter at the rate you want (see viewtopic.php?t=75 for syncing your lfos to bpm)
