All i can recommend is keep looking on ebay.co.uk - you never know - this guy i bought 'em off just had them lying round - never got round to fitting them into his sampler. Sealed, brand new for ?150.

Good luck man, thats a pretty expensive upgrade
BUT, I do hear that if you buy the rfx first then its cheaper for some reason. But thats only good if you want the rfx as well (I do!) Can anyone confirm this? Rippin snare, where you at man?

yes matey that is very correct. if you have the rfx card the inputs and outputs are about half the price as the standard ones. On top of that the RFX upgrades are also 24-bit. They do sound very nice indeed.

One thing to keep in mind is this however. IF you do get the RFX card the old upgrades WILL NOT WORK!!! You MUST get them again for the RFX card as they attach directly to the RFX card themselves in order to work. That goes for outputs, inputs and ADAT. IF you do not wish to EVER get the RFX card then you can the older upgrades with no problems.

The way I See it is this.. the RFX card costs about as much as the old 8 output expansion upgrade so if you want the upgrades you might as well put that same amount of coin into the RFX card and know that you CAN still get all the other upgrades later but for a fraction of the cost. It is a great investement that way if you ask me. I have done this very thing and it worked out well in the end. The 4 input expanion and ADAT are a very cheap upgrade too.

hope this helps.

So my question for you is this. If I have the rfx chip, and i wanna get the 8 output option id have to get a special one to attach on the rfx? So if UI order one off ebay i wouldnt really be saving?

If you have or are getting the RFX as a definate option for your emu then yes you will need teh rfx-8 output expansion. This is the only one that will work with the RFX card cause yes it attaches via a ribbon cable directly to the rfx card. Make sure this is so. You can tell my two ways. The price which is about half that of the standard 8 output expansion and as well to that the rfx outputs are stated as 24 bit which the others aren't.
