Hi peeps, need to create a helicopter sound that starts slow and then speeds up to a continuous sound. I want to design a cord that I can apply to anysound - The thing is it must stay in time - so I could run this cord at 175BPM and it would be in beat no matter the pitch of the sample? Have I confused you? I've just confused my self!

I could easily draw this in the key editor as a template in my sequencer and apply anysound to it and apply pitch bend.....but then it would only for that BPM. I need an algorithm.....

Thanks  [/b]

 Wha... I... well...

I am not sure what you are trying to do. It sounds like you are trying to do a remix of the Helicopter Tune and you want the blades to go in time. Right

Two ideas come to mind.

1. Get a hold of a helicopter taking off and sample just a few of the blades going by. Then sequence them with maybe a pitch bend attached to the vel< so the harder you hit the key the higher it goes. You would have to make sure that you set the pitch to an apporiate range so that it doesn't sound silly.

2. if you can't find a sample of a helicopter taking off you could use a ruler (wooden perferably) and some string. You tie the string to through one of the holes in the ruler and then get a nice mic and spin the ruler of to your right or left. That will emulate the sounds of a helicopter. I heard this from one of those sound effects guys. Then get your turbine sound and so forth assuming you are wanting to make a jet heli.

But I am not too sure what you want. But I would just sequence it note per note. Or you could take various samples of the different stages of the heli taking off or use sample retrig and possibly pitch to try and match it to your beat. I guess.

Hope this helps.
