ZoeOS Mac OS X

Postby drayon » Tue May 18, 2004 2:13 pm

There must be at least 50 Mac OS X users here now?

If u want an easier way to use your EMU this is the app. If u want your EMU to be future proofed for a few more years, this is the app.

I need more ppl buying this thing so development can start asap. Im tired of typing sample/preset names fromt he keypad on the EMU, besides the difficulty i really don't want to be wearing my EMoo out. This thing aint expensive when u consider what it offers us dying breed of hardware users.

So shouts goin out to all tha Mac/EMU massive.

oh yeah i think the sound of drum n bass is suffering cos more ppl are using Kontakt now NOT the EMU. shit aint badassed no more..sa'll too clean and lacking that attitude.

I agree on all points.

I'm on OSX now, just waiting for a little cash to sign up for ZoeOS. Who else out there is gonna splash out for it? So far, only 5 of 100 people needed have signed up, according to Zuonics' site...

As for the current clean sound of DnB - it's partly a reaction against the darkness, I think, and partly the overuse of software, and partly the reliance on synth lines to carry a track instead of drums and bass... Nobody even knows that the filters on the softsamplers suck, they just have no idea. It's sad.

I'm all for it... the attitude & the creation of original sounds are few and none. Just for the fact that soft samplers like Kontakt don't RESAMPLE. And everyone's using the same damn presets on Absynth & the like.
Now all I need is an interface to give me the ease of use the software offers & we're miles ahead!

i feel you on that tip man, that's why the illest d&b was still when outboard gear was the only way to produce (at least in my opinion) ...

and as for all of those software producers, they can eat a dick.

I have been using ZoeOS on the PC for a while now and I can say that it is shit hot and will only get better especially if sample editing/Peptalk functionality is implemented. Paul Muon deserves all the help he can get...it took some balls to go out on a limb and make a soft app for a discontinued line of products and the thing is it does what it is supposed to...a big up to Zuonics and here's hoping he can justify the port to Mac OS/X and perhaps Linux. Sadly we have been abandoned by E--MU and this will help us wring the living shit out of our hardware for some years to come. Just wait until the E--MU line becomes a sought after classic and watch the prices bounce on our beloved hardware. I love my Ultra and would not give it away for quids. Anything to speed up the creative process is going to make us grin for some time to come. Fuck the Reason shit!!! Paul @Zuonics. I urge you to get over to our site and pre-order. We really want to make this environment cross-platform. If it doesn't happen this month, I don't think we will get to look at the OSX version again until early next year. You only need to pay 69 euro upfront to pre-order ( though you can save big by paying 129 euro now). That's only 46 British squids! Check out the product direction section at the site and you will see just what is coming in terms of features. We are going the whole way - NO COMPRIMISES!

To Paul @ Zuonics,

If the deadline is the 30th of May and there are still 89 orders to go, it's not going to happen....

I really NEED this software and since there are no valid alternatives, I will be forced to buy the PC version and a PC SCSI card and control / load my Emu from the PC and trigger it from the Mac....

So I was wondering if the Mac version finally makes it, could there be some sort of 'Mac Switch' compromise to make the switch as painless as possible...

Regards, Johan

Sure - we will be accomodating to people who wish to switch platforms.

Paul@Zuonics: Not far away - one more point release on Windows and then a start on an OSX flavour.
