Still teething here . I have a small 540mb scsi drive on its way for back up (for E4XT Ultra 4.7) I have a sony ide cdrw now in the comp. Can I use this to write to or would it just be better/easier to get a cheap scsi cdrw?

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking.

If your asking if you can put the ide burner in the emu then the answer is no - Emu does not support Rom burning from the sampler. That applies to both IDE and scsi.

You can however burn EOS images on your computer using your IDE dcrw and a program like Translator.

Alternatively.

You say you dont have a scsi cdrw however do you have

1) standard scsi CD Rom for you emu.
2) scsi card for your computer.
3) Is the 540meg hard drive an external one.

If so you could easily make images of the scsi hard drive onto CD with your computer. It would be a bit trickier if the scsi drive is an internal one however it would still be possible.

I have a standard scsi CD rom on the emu now. I am about to get the Adaptec 2930 and I bought a cheap 540mb internal hd for the pc. From what I've read I thought I was suppose to get an internal scsi hd for the pc. maybe i screwed up. I also thought that you had to get internal scsi cdrw for the pc. Maybe i'm reading to many bb's and getting confused. I am aware of Translator but was going for the cheaper solution. This is how i understood it from Tweaks Guide at Studio-Central. Am i off base here? I'm very new to all of this but it's all fun.
