I'm getting ready to buy and install a SCSI controller into my PC to work with the EMU. Questions:

1.) What kind of card do I need? I see SCSI Wide, Ultra SCSI...etc... which one works?

2.) Once I've got it installed, with the EMU attached, what next? Will Sound Forge automatically recognize it? Or do I need to set it up somehow?

ANd just because I'm new...

1.) I have a Evolution MK-249C as my midi controller in Cubase, I route this to the EMU for a trigger. Now, this will sound quite retarded, so prepare yourselves:

I've never used the internal effects of my sampler, i know, i know...so, can I assign the filters and what not to the various knobs of my keyboard?

scsi 2 will work fine (perhaps scsi 1 also) the emu's scsi isnt so new as ultrawide (at least in my model e6400 classic) so a cheepeo generic scsi will do the job.

Install the card, install the cable , power on pc then emu (see my thread here viewtopic.php?t=39 ) once you are into windows you will probably have the system telling you it found new hardware, keep hitting cancel unless you have the inf file (not needed, its just a fake driver entry to stop windows bugging you, if anyone has a link to the inf please post it below) then go into your soundforge, and tools/sampler you can now set up an entry for the emu (its supported directly so you only have to select it, choose scsi id and save it) now you are all set!

yes its very simple to control with any controller that sends midi cc's, you just need to assign the numbers to listen to (and send from the keyboard) the manuals should have all the details!
