emusonacid! legacy

Hey,
I just came into possession of an e6400 through ebay, and it's giving me checksum errors when it tries to boot up. I'm really hoping that the problem can be fixed by reinstalling the OS (it doesn't look like the guy used it much, it tries to boot in EOS 1.0h installed).

Anyway, I went to e-mu's site, dl'd EOS410CL and tried to get to make me a in install disk. Like some other people who have posted here, I found that the program doesn't work, it starts executing and then tells me it has Error#9 and aborts. I've tried running it in XP, and the cmd line interface. I've not had much luck from a DOS boot either.

Does anyone know how to get the e-mu install program to actually work; or, does anyone have an disk image they could send me?

WARNING!! This OS requires 2MB of Flash memory in your classic Emulator sampler. If you attempt to install this OS on a system with less than 2Mb of flash it may render the sampler useless and require hardware repair at your expense in order to fix. In order to determine the amount of Flash memory in your sampler do the following: With sampler fully booted press Master>Utils>About>Config. Look at the amount of CPU Flash you have. If it is 2MB or above we can assume this OS will work in your sampler.

so you might stay with the "old" 2.8 version

i recently updated to the actual 4.62 for the e6400 with the official files from EMU support, but i do have 2MB.

I think you have 1 MB Flash Memory so you should use EOS verson 3.0b or 2.8.
Just place your EOS*.exe in the root of disk C:\ . The programm dosn't work with long file names!!!
Place floppy disk in drive A and then execute program.
On a question about floppy drive answer A.

If you wish to use version EOS 4.62 you should replace Flash Memory with new one with volume 2 MB.
Look at e-bay if you want to buy it.

Yup, I found out through trial and error that the 4.10 classic won't work - thought it was because the floppy image is greater than 1.44mb. I guess it is due to the 1mb cpu rom size.

In any case, you can reload 2.80b as I did, and it will restore the OS no problem. I can't afford the cpu rom upgrade that is advertised here on the site, though I hope to later this fall. Until then, I want to install the 3.0b EOS, but the image on the net is not the right one. It is a roland sdisk utility.

So, does anyone have the EOS 3.0b upgrade image....please!?
