I have just bought an E4XT with RFX. I comes with the standard 8 outs (4stereo pairs). If i bought the extra 8 out upgrade for RFX, does this mean that I have 16 true analogue outs or are they just a mirror of the other 8 (as the seller keeps telling me). I am new to the RFX and it's routing (and yes, I am ReadingTFM). What I want is the abilty to have 16 autonomous mono outs, or 8 stereo pairs.., regards, Nads.

yes, the 8 output expander gives you sub 4 through sub 7 . so you can have 16 mono outputs or 8 stereo

is it possible to use monochannels thru RFX like you would on a normal mixer? i found that the RFX sends are always stereo. most of my sounds are mono so i don't see the advantage of that.
if you want to send a monosound through an RFX you will first have to pan it but it comes out panned with the effect and thet is not what i'm after.

what I want is a mono channel with a stereo effect

is there a way to do this?
