Did you ever fix this? If so, care to share how?

Tried converting to EOS format with ChickenSys Translator but something didn't work properly, I just have white noise when playing them back on E-MU.

I have the same problem, but I have only tried it once. I converted a sf2 to eos.

I've tried several files/discs in .e4b and none work, just white noise. I downloaded some banks from analoguesque.com and those worked fine, only the ones I try making with chicken sys are broken. I also tried converting to the other 3 emu formats, and all the akai's, but chicken won't even convert those, it says it is but never moves past 0%.

Is there any other way to make files my emu will read?

You could try extracting the raw sample data into WAV or AIFF format and then open it in an audio edoitor to see if it is being extracted properly from the source file.

You could try contacting Chicken Systems, they may know about this already and a have a bug fix in the works.

Thanks, I didn't think of that.

Opened in Audition and the files play but there's noise at the very start before the sample plays, then it plays but at the wrong sample rate, and it's repeated.

Translator (free) now just locks up as soon as I highlight any audio file. Will try it on some other computers I suppose.
edit: turns out had same prob on other computers, was caused by the files being in the desktop? moved them elsewhere and now it plays them again

I've got usable results from Chickensys Translator occasionally, but I have to say it's very patchy.

maybe its because im on a mac and the pc works better.
it looks good and the descriptions are good but when it comes to concrete jobs it always fails. i mean - i dont need to pay 150$ to convert sf2 to exs - this is what you can do without it already. it says its an os x version but you have to have a running os 9 version installed before updating....so the advertising is misleading and giving a too comfortable impression

Are there any other options instead of chickensys? I've tried it on 3 computers and am giving up, so many days trying and not a single file worked.

I've now got a SCSI ZIP, USB ZIP, lots of disks, and a SCSI PCI card (no leads yet) but from what I can tell these aren't going to help me get any samples on the Emu; I read on DOA that to transfer files I need at least 4.0 EOS? And I can't use the ZIP disks since I can't convert any files?
