is there any difference in the sound of these samplers?

i know there is a difference between the classics and the ultras, but between the 5k,4k,6400?

No.

They run the same sound engine as far as I am aware.

But, the ad/da-converters may be different. Am I right?

There might be a slight difference between the different converters, but the main character of the 'EOS sound' comes from the filters, and that is the same across the entire range.
