so i will receive my EMU E6400 Ultra in the next week. Im coming from using an Ensoniq EPS 16+;)

specs;

EOS 4.61
Channels - 64
Sample RAM - 128mb
CPU RAM - 8mb
CPU FLASH - 4mb
Outputs - 16
Internal HD 20Gb


my question is; Will changing to EOS 4.7 effect my machine? I have read through the old posts and it seems that the troubles are only with peope that have RFX Card...

i would LOVE to be able to use FAT32 formatted disks (ZIP) with my Emu to import WAV files but i DONT want to have Random Panning and Loud Outbursts etc...

there are other bugs i have read about like disks saying they are full when they are not and MIDI file problems....

Also while im here i need to know - will the Internal Harddrive be backed up if i end up changing to 4.7?

2. FAT file system
3. Support for large hard disks

Other than that, I'm not sure.

using 4.7 on the same exact model with no rfx and no problems for the last 3 or 4 years.

Here's some blasphemy ...
I have an RFX but don't use it much because I think the effects are crap! They're usable, but not nearly what I expected them to be. I use 4.7 and have been finding some workarounds for the weirdness like the outbursts, but again, I'm not using it so much, I'd rather record and use some really good VSTs instead. If I can naildown some workarounds that really work then I will post them.

well one workaround i have been told about that was to do with the Random Panning is to never have your Percussion/Beats in Stereo.

whether that means make the sample MONO and/or Use an Unbalanced Output im not sure?

Isnt it best to have all Outs with Balanced Cables for maximum volume?

The workaround is to use mono samples. And yes, it is best to use balanced cables. Just for clarification: An unbalanced output can be mono or stereo and the same applies to a balanced output.

Well, conserning the rfx card, I would love to drive audio through eos filters!
