Don't you need the magic rare flashmemory upgrade to get it up to 4.62? If anyone knows where these can be had, I'd be keen to hear about it.

I truly don't know. I have an e-synth classic, and i just updated it from eos 4.1 to 4.62 using a floppydisc emu actually mailed to me.

check your CPU flash. if you have 1 meg, you can't go to 4.0. Most of the older ones will need an upgrade. I believe the e-synth came later and has 4 megs of CPU flash; there's one other one I can't remember that doesn't need it too. I forget how you check this, it's in the master menu somewhere.

I have an E4xt (non-ultra) that I could not upgrade because my CPU RAM was only 1 meg, and it needed 2 Megs.

I found one fella in the world with 2 Meg Flash RAM upgrades, he actually makes them!!, and it worked perfectly, no floppy install was needed, EOS 4.62 comes pre-installed on the Flash RAM card.

If you need one, I can get more

I have just unpacked my e6400 and have 1MB of CPU Ram aswell as 1 MB of CPU Flash.
My EOS Version is 3.00b
Can anyone tell me what EOS might fit best and @Jeremy!!

What is this guy asking for this Flash Rom and why making such a mystery of it when he ist making them?

Postby TECHTONE » Thu Jul 20, 2006 5:52 pm

Hi!
Look at e-bay. There is a very good explanation of advantage v4.62 over v3.0b.

@techtone

thanx forthe link.
personaly i have to say that this busts my budget :cry:

@toots
i know about the problem regarding emu (well we should call it crea-mu now instead)
i am in contact with a very helpfull lady at emu support center who provided me a contact to another lady at the creative warehouse.
i try to manage to get as much information on any leftover items for emu hardware samlpers as possible.
hopefully she will provide me with some infos about what`s left to buy.
i will state any information if i get some.

sad but true that after emus buyout by creative, the REAL studio gear was degraded.
i have to say that i tested the emulator x and well, needless to say that i am still a hardware-freak, rather than a software kid. :grin:
