well i don't goof around with cubase, but i would figure it would be pretty much like cakewalk and any other sequencing program out there anyway.
you want to be able to control the length of your drums? well if i am understanding correctly, what you are doing is programming your drums in midi and then going back into the list and editing each drums length as you see fit. that can be time consuming... here is an idea for the lenght though:
this will actually will come from my tr808 thread.
what you do is set up vel<=envrls=-30%, you may want to check my other thread for the right name of the destination, i can't remember... i just woke up.
you should then hear as you slowly decrease the velocity of a snare, or whatever that it gets smaller as you go done.
now if you are actually talking about the event length them selves, i would just a do a step time and program it that way. i would think cubase would have something like that.
in cakewalk, i can actually select the different note lenght values when i do step time.
i hope this helps you man... and give me a little bit... you will get that tr808 sample, i am just going to have to try to get a better sounding version for everyone.
