optional outputs installed -how can i use them?

Postby jungalized » Thu Oct 26, 2006 6:54 pm

hi there,
finally i`ve bought a working e6400 ultra, and installted the output expander from the e6400classic in my e6400 ultra.
at the start-screen the ultra says "output option installed" but i can only choose between "main", "sub1", "sub2" and "sub3" in the preset-menu.

the output expander is not broken or something like that, because it was working in the e6400 classic.

does anybody know a solution for this problem?
the guy i?ve bought the sampler from did a little mod with the fan:
i can switch the fan on or off...could this mod cause some problems with the output expander?

(sorry for my bad english :D )

I was under the impression the output expansion for the Ultra required the RFX card installed first, that the main board hardware in the Classic and Ultra were configured differently.

Hi.

I can't help you with the output expansion issue but I can categorically state that you should NEVER run your sampler without the fan as it will allow the unit to overheat thus causing further and possibly irreversible, issues. If you find the fan is too noisy you can substitute it for a quieter one; details on doing can be found in other threads on this forum.

Cheers,

thanks for your quick replies!
@vermis_rex:
i`ve got the rfx32 installed in the sampler and it is working. :(

@adam-v:
i know that it is not good to run the sampler without fan, because if no fan was needed emu wouldn`t have bult in one :)

All I can say is double check your installation of the outputs. I have an output expansion that was originally installed in my E6400 classic and moved this into my E6400 Ultra and E4XT Ultra, it has worked perfectly each time for me.
