Did a gig last night and must have been even more ham fisted than usual coz I broke one of the keys on my E4K.

As E-mu parts are like rocking horse s**t these days, I could do with glueing it.

Can anyone share experience as to the best glue for the purpose?

It needs to be a strong repair, as I'm not exactly known for my delicate technique, but I could do without it being rough to the touch.

I bought mine with 3 broken keys. Superglue is probably your best bet. The keys are still perfectly playable although one is slightly chipped and a small piece is missing on the surface of the key.

I just recently changed a key on my dx-7, most keys are standard, and you could take it to a musicshop and get it fixed for a low price.

If you are not in a hurry I may be able to help you out. My keyboard has a fault, and it could mean that I need to send it off to be 're-flashed'. If that proves to be too expensive/troublesome I'll have a keyboard for butchering.
BTW Dont suppose you are in Plymouth, are you? What's the band?

The white keys on the E4K are slighly curved and the black keys are narrower at the top than on any other keyboard I have owned, so I don't think that's a viable solution.
But as you pointed out, it shouldn't be too expensive, provided the keys are still available. I once had two keys and one of the end 'cheeks' - for want of a better word - changed on my Korg M1 and it only set me back ?30.

Hey Jeff,

Probably wont know where I'm at with the keyboard for a few weeks. I'll probably send it off next week, but turnaround is up to two weeks from when they receive it.

Have you got a website at all? I dont get down to South Devon as much as I'd like, but intuition tells me I'd probably enjoy what you guys do.
I was in Newton Abbott last week auditioning for a start-up blues/rock outfit. These guys painted a pretty positive picture of the live scene down there.

Anyone know how to remove the keys from an E4K.

I glued the broken one and it broke again at a gig last night.

I'm thinking that if I can swap it with a less used one at either extreme of the keyboard it might survive rather better.

I just can't figure how to remove them.

Anyone?
