Hi all
I have an E4K (keyboard) and to be honest have not turned it on for about 2 years :(
It was working fine back then if I recall correctly.
But last night I turned it on and it made a clicking sound - possibly from the floppy drive. A message is displayed on the display - sadly I forgot to make a note of what it said...something like a "checksum error"?
(If necc - I will post the full error message when I get home tonight)
Basically I read somewhere (maybe not this forum) awhile ago about just needing to reinstall the EOS. Of course I can't remember whether it has a 1MB or a 2MB ROM.
I am guessing I can't screw it up much more if I just reinstall the EOS 2.8 from the floppy created from the file from the EMU website...?
Sorry if that sounds all backward - but I read that trying to install EOS 4.xx on a product that only has the 1MB ROM may 'physically' damage it?
So I'll try the EOS 2.8 - am guessing that I just stick the disk in and turn the unit on...?
Any comments or pointers to previous posts appreciated.
Thanks.
