SCSI Zip and PC Zip

Postby sonny105 » Fri Jun 08, 2007 4:53 pm

Hi,

This has been covered a bit, but I am still a bit confused as I am sort of a novice with samplers and formats. I have an Utra 5000 with an external SCSI Zip hooked up and also a PC with a standard (non-SCSI) external Zip drive.
I have some WAVs on my PC that I have copied to the standard Zip. When I use the disk with my sampler, it recognizes the Zip disk (I see the zip icon or symbol), but does not see the WAVs. I have previously copied WAVs via floppy disk and that worked OK. Shouldn't the Zips work the same as the floppies, or is this not the case?

Regards.

You need EOS 4.7 installed on the sampler.

Format the disk on the sampler and choose EOSFAT as the format.

Make sure on the pc that you do not create any folders within other folders as the E-mu will not be able to see them or their contents.

Also they need the names prefixed. Format is:

B.000-sample name
B.001-sample name

Etc
Sounds Delicious...

Hey, thanks for the info and tips. I did have an older version of the operating system and downloaded the new files from the EMU site. I did the upgrade, then transferred some WAVs and it works great. Much appreciated.
