help for a new guy!

Postby everygeek » Mon Aug 18, 2003 4:37 pm

A little help please for all your sharp and intelligent emu owners - Just got a e6400 and having a play and all seems fine and dandy - Just a quick question - I'm triggering it from an external synth (yamaha ex7) - if a sample is set up to loop is it possible for me just to press a key once and it loops indefinately rather than me continually holding the key down ..i know this may sound odd and impossible...but like i said i'm new and a bit thick in ways of the emu!!
Many thanks in anticipation

I'm not in front of my sampler right now, but I think this should work:

For the preset and sample you're working with, go into Preset Edit->Edit Voice->Tuning->Next Page->Next Page and turn Latch Mode on. In this you should be able to trigger a sample when you hit a key, and keep playing it until you hit the key again.

Have fun with your emu...

i dare yah to set up a chord, key~>keysust>100%

you will never hear the end of it. never... unless you turn of your emu...
i have done this from time to time. also, you could do stuff with the amp envelopes, you can make it slowly get louder, and louder, and louder, until you just can't take it anymore... in which case, turning the emu off is in order, once again.

but i think the latch mode is a good idea. let us know who it works..

Actually, I figured out how to turn that off when that happened to me... Just jump into Disk Browse mode and it should stop playing.
