I've got an old E5000 Ultra hardware sampler that needs some minor repairs (it has a loose jog wheel that now skips through data too quickly & some function buttons are 'sticking' when pressed - it makes for very laborious editing!) I've had a look at the Emu website (http://www.emu.com), but the website indicates that repairs are only available in America. The link that is supposed to list authorised repair centres in Europe and Asia only provides a further link to EPR Electronics who are based in Tampa, Florida. There's no listing for Emu in UK telephone directory enquiries, and the website doesn't have any contact details for the UK or Europe. I've emailed the US tech-support but haven't had a reply yet.
Does anybody know where you can get Emu hardware repaired in the UK - is it even possible?
Given the value of the E5000, shipping to the US for repairs is not an option.
I like my E5000; I guess if I can't get it repaired I'll have to buy another one second hand when it finally dies.
Also is it possible to use a USB Zip drive with an E5000 via a SCSI to USB converter? Has anybody successfully tried this? My SCSI Zip is dying and a mate has a couple of USB Zips going spare - or will I have to buy a 2nd hand SCSI Zip?
Thanks for your help.
