Hi peeps
I require a EMUE6400 Volume Control/Headphone Socket Board as cheap as possible.
Presently using a substitute volume pot but not sure if it's outputting on full volume due to different values.

That is not exactly true. You don't want to use a value too high, as not enough current will make the readings unstable.
Too small a value will draw more current, which can also be bad for other components.
As long as you keep it close to the required value,you'll be fine.
